Dell discovered huckleberries in August of 1976 while working a summer forester job for the Idaho Department of Lands in Sandpoint, Idaho. The next morning Malcolm had huckleberry pancakes for the first time.

The rest, as they say, is history!!!!

Malcolm attended the University of Idaho from 1973 to 1979, as a Forest Resources major, a field of study resulting from his love for the forests and mountains of the northern Rockies.

He continues to pick huckleberries every summer in his beloved northern Idaho, often traveling north to the Coeur d'Alene area, from his current home near Orofino, where Malcolm and Sandy currently live.

Dell's love of huckleberries also led to the gourmet food business they share at www.TastesofIdaho.com ... which sells mostly - you guessed it - huckleberry products from the state of Idaho.

Malcolm's favorite huckleberry goodies include pancakes, jam, salad dressing, and ... he used to make a huckleberry-ginger salsa commercially, and hopes to bring the line back once life slows down a bit.

He started buying and testing huckleberry rakes in 2007, and Dell started selling them in 2008, after finding out how well they work, without damaging the bushes.

Happy Huckleberry!
